Opened in 1957, the Troubadour currently sits in its original location on Santa Monica Blvd. Throughout its history, just about every major perfoming act has come through the Troubadour including Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis and Metallica. It was also a popular spot for debuts, which included the US debut of Elton John and Radiohead's OK Computer, the LA debut of Joni Mitchell and Franz Ferdinand, the headlining debut of Metallica, and even a surprise performance by Shonen Knife, most notably one of Kurt Cobain's favorite bands.
